A couple of weeks ago, I went to watch Brave: Gunjō Senki (ブレイブ ‐群青戦記‐, Bureibu Gunjō Senki). It is a live-action movie based on the manga Gunjō Senki (群青戦記) about a group of high school students who were transported back in time to Japan's Warring States period. They had to find a way back to travel back to their own time while being drawn into the conflicts of the Warring States period.
The opening of the movie was a prolonged battle scene as high school students were being attacked by warriors. The scenes were depicted in very violent and shocking ways, which may not go well with some viewers. But I would say it is realistic to say that, when a group of high school students meet a group of seasoned warriors hardened by years of war, the end result would be what the movie actually depicted.
Miura Haruma played a supporting role in the movie, but his presence was overwhelming in all the scenes he was in. It is really a pity that he is no longer around and we will never be able to see even more good acting from him. This movie is also said to be like the handing over from Miura Haruma to Mackenyu. I really went to watch the movie to see Miura Haruma's acting. 😅
Would I recommend this movie to others? I would say, go watch if you are want to see Miura Haruma's acting. Or if you want catch some really violent but realistic portrayal of high school students in the modern age being massacred by a group of seasoned warriors. Or if you want to just have something to spend 2 hours on.
