Today marks one year from the horrible fire at Kyoto Animation's 1st Studio. Due to COVID-19, there will not be an actual memorial event, but Kyoto Animation has released the video above to mark this anniversary along with a press release two days ago.
There were three messages displayed in the video. These messages came not from KyoAni staff but people who works with them. I am guessing one of them could be the sound director Tsuruoka Yota and the other is script writer Yoshida Reiko.
A short 7-minute video, but it brings tears because of all the past works which KyoAni has produced, and you know that we will never see the works which would have been possible had the 36 victims survived the fire.
😭
Update: Just saw the news. An actual event was held for a closed group including families of the victims.
Note: The video mentioned in this post was made available only on the day of the event.
