We usually spend New Year Day in Japan, with my in-laws. 2014 is no exception. So after our trip to the USA, we went back to Japan for the new year.
We welcomed the new year with the usual Japanese tradition of osechi. This was followed by a trip down to the nearby shrine, where we prayed for health and good luck.
We also made a trip to Kawasaki Taishi, to pray for health and good luck in the year ahead. Plus enjoy the nice food you can find being sold at the food stalls.
It was a short, quiet break for us, before we returned to the hectic lifestyle awaiting us in Singapore. It was time spent with family, chatting over dinner, over beer, over wine. Watching variety shows on TV. Reading books on my Kindle. Just taking things slowly.
